Conicosia pugioniformis (Narrow-leaved iceplant, Pig-root)

is a frost hardy perennial evergreen succulent with yellow flowers in early Summer. It grows well in direct sun, and prefers low levels of water. The flowers are explosion shaped. It has high drought tolerance. It looks best in Summer.

Soil

Conicosia pugioniformis grows in soils ranging from a pH of 6 (acidic ranges from 5.6 to 6) to 8 (slightly alkaline ranges from 7.6 to 8). It is adapted to loamy sand, sand, sandy clay, sandy clay loam and sandy loam soils.

Growth

This is a rounded plant and has a clump forming growth form, and has an ultimate height of 0.3m / 11.8in and spread of 0.6m / 2ft.

Leaves

It has green leaves. They are ensiformis in shape.

Uses

Bank and slope, coastal/seaside suitable, flower border and bed, ground cover and container plant.

Propagation techniques include division and seed.
